Most venues cut finger portions of cake, but it is always best to check with your venue before deciding what size cake you need. As a rule only 75-85% of the cake will get eaten at the venue, although what’s better than coffee and cake the next day, and leftovers freeze very well
if you would like fresh flowers on your cake, make sure they are safe to do so, many popular wedding flowers such as Eucalyptus, Gypsophelia, and Hydrangea are toxic and shouldn’t be used on anything edible. Check whether your florist is aware of the fsa guidelines
Have you thought of having dummy cakes? Add one or two additional tiers without the waste of having real cake. ( not suitable for semi-naked cakes)
Want to mix it up why not have tiers of different heights. Need extra servings? but don’t want extra tiers, how about having an 8” tall tier (4 layers ) instead of the usual 6”,(3layers) you can even have 2 flavours in 1 tier, or do you want a 3 tier but not the additional servings have a 2 layer (4”) tier instead.
Most wedding cakes have 2” between each tier but it is possible to have 3” between tiers, this allows for more space for flowers or decorations.

I can provide cake tasting samples for £15, these will be cake slices in the flavours of your choice, if your wedding cake is priced over £200, the cost of the cake samples (£15) will be deducted from the final price should you decide to order your cake from me.
I will liaise with you regarding dates available that are convenient to us both.
The tasting samples will consist of 8 slices of cake in 4 flavours of your choice this will cost £15, these can also be posted first class for an additional £8
I can also add additional flavours if required for an additional £3 per flavour ( 2 slices)

A consultation/ cake tasting session will cost £25, if your cake costs £200 or more, £15 of this will be refunded should you decide to order your cake from me.
I have a selection of cake stands available to hire, and a cake knife if required
